Description
Flashes of the aurora sweep across the whole sky in wide ribbons; below is the dark edge of a winter forest and a lone pine. The vertical format was chosen to give the sky enough room.
Painting the aurora in watercolor is a challenge: you cannot “add” light, you can only leave it unpainted. So the work was painted from light to dark, layer by layer.
Original, 36×28 cm, one of a kind.
