Description
Yellow blossom below, still-snowy peaks above. That is exactly what spring in the mountains is like: the snow has not melted yet, but the meadow is already ablaze with yellow.
I let the paint spread freely, so the blooming slope is not drawn in detail but became an almost abstract patch of light. The contrast with the cool grey-violet mountains holds the whole composition together.
A small vertical format, 36×28 cm — a work like this looks good paired with another or in a group on the wall.
